This is my deluxe model roll up Slim Jim/J-Pole antenna.
This deluxe version is the same as my basic version but with 2 differences. 1st, this model comes with 10 feet of rg174 coax instead of 5 and 2nd, I make the deluxe with a
ferrite choke
installed at the base of the antennas coax to eliminate rf feedback through the coax. This version with 10 feet of coax is still up to ten times smaller in size and weight than any others on ebay for sale and at the same time my antennas are physically the same length and rated for up to 60 Watts!

This antenna has a SWR of 1.5 or lower across the 2 meter band and works well on the 70cm band via 3rd harmonic also.
Now to be honest I use what I believe to work the best for what this antenna is designed to be all the way around. Small,Portable,Lightweight and VERY VERY effective but RG-174 is a lossy coax by nature and on this antenna with 10 feet the loss is still only about 1.0db at 145mhz. Trust me when I tell you that The 6db of gain you get with this antenna over a typical j-pole more than makes up for the 1db loss in the coax.
Here is why,
A Slim Jim antenna is basically similar to a Jpole design, but it exhibits a lower radiation angle in the range of 8-10 degrees on the horizon, compared to 1/2 wave Jpole which exhibits a 20-30 degree angle on the horizon. (ie. more gain)
Some have suggested these Slim Jim work better than a 5/8 wave antenna.

You still get to choose between 3 different connectors for your antenna. They are pictured above with labels: SMA-Female/SMA-Male/BNC-Male. When you purchase your antenna through PayPal just specify your connector needed in the notes to seller section in PayPal. If you do not inform me of what you need than your antenna will ship with SMA-Female as default.
Just hang the antenna at least 36 inches or more away from obstructions with a fishing line or string (non-condutive) and start talking.
