This blast cleaning media is a sharp, angular, pure glass product,
with a Mohs hardness value of 5-6, made in the USA, for dry blasting.
GLASS ABRASIVE
is excellent for cleaning most materials,
with little risk of embedment of particles or
damaging of bearing or other sensitive hardened surfaces,
which is something that can take place with
slag medias, sand, or, certainly, with harder products like aluminum oxide.
GLASS ABRASIVE
is cleaner, safer, sharper,
and less likely to embed than coal slag
(Black Beauty
)

plus,
with
GLASS ABRASIVE
, you have the option of  7 different sieve (grit) sizes
to better match your profile preferences.
This
GLASS ABRASIVE
product is not to be confused with quality
GLASS BEAD
,
which is round and will peen, but is not very effective for cleaning.
GLASS ABRASIVE
will clean and profile for paint, or other re-surfacing,
five times faster and more effectively than
GLASS BEAD
,
at about 1/2 the purchase price,
and 2/3 the air pressure needed for
GLASS BEAD
.
This is because the spherical shape of
GLASS BEAD
will not cut well at all until it breaks,
at which point it quickly degenerates to dust and fines.
NOTE: Be aware that many media sellers

is round, should be consistent in size, low in fines,
and is best considered for peening and
