Description

Let me start by requesting you look at
all pictures
and read the full description please!
This unit is very efficient from 160m and well beyond 10m
This kit includes;
9:1 matchbox with all stainless hardware
2x stainless wire clamps (good for 14 AWG or smaller antenna wire)
1x dogbone insulator
Wire not Included so you can run whatever length of antenna wire you want.
Description;
9:1 unun Matchbox weighs 1lb 6oz. Box is 4.5"x3.5"x2.25" high
Power handling  1500+W PEP as long as you are feeding it with an antenna wire with a natural SWR of 4.1 or lower before tuning up your antenna. This unit is VERY efficient and well over 95%
As you can see from the pictures, this box offers a VERY low insertion loss from 0-30+ MHz
If you look in the pictures of the antenna analyzer you can see that when I replicate a 450 ohm antenna load with resistors from the element end of the box to the MFJ the natural SWR of the box is 1.2:1 SWR or better across the HF bands.
This unit is made with 3 large toroidal cores and all silver plated 14 AWG 200c high temp PTFE wire. My box is also vented unlike any others. This both let's the box exchange air for heat as well as condensation although running 2200W PEP into the unit I have yet to get it even slightly warm.
All Stainless Steel Hardware and all pinouts are shown in the pictures. Please study all pictures!
WHY MY MATCHBOX IS DIFFERENT
Simply put, my unit is NOT a "google how to" and throw together unit. I take pride in my work and products and make them the best I can. This unit has been in R&D for quite some time until the product speaks for itself.
This unit will allow you to run an end fed dipole (1 single wire) on almost any band with just a single wire and radio+tuner.
1500Watts PEP easily if using a tuner with random length.
This is accomplished with a trifilar wound unun (not balun) transformer at a 9:1 ratio. How this works is really quite simple. Running a standard dipole with 2 elements has about a 72 ohm feed point at the center but end feeding a dipole will result in impedance levels from 1800 to 5000 ohms! That's way too much for a tuner to handle right?
Well that's what this matchbox takes care of. Simply put it brings the impedance down to levels that tuners can deal with and a tuner isn't even needed if you trim to a good length.
HOW TO DEPLOY
First off you will need a tuner unless you use the chart provided a little lower in the description and trim to resonant length! The bands you can tune up and work depends on your tuner.
Use at least 16 feet of coax from the box to the tuner! The box uses the shield of your coax so the 16 feet or more is good.
Most users will find no rf issues and find no rf choke is needed. That said, using a GOOD rf choke is always good ham practice
and I do have my own designed choke/s with full choking specifications listed with the one authorized distributor for them. It can be found by putting the eBay item number in the eBay search bar. That number is 264946030545
You can run your antenna as a vertical/sloper/inverted L/or zig zag even.
COMMON AND PROVEN LENGTHS OF WIRE TO RUN ARE AS FOLLOWS;
(FEET) 35.5  41  58  71  84  107  119  148  203  347  407  423
ALSO, AFTER YOU PURCHASE AND BEFORE I SHIP I WILL SEND YOU A MESSAGE WITH A WEB LINK TO SELECTING A LENGTH FOR YOUR INTENDED PURPOSE. For any of the lower bands I don't recommend 35.5 or 41 feet. It radiates surprisingly well  on 40m and 80m with a short 55-60 foot wire.
What you must do:
Pick one of the lengths that you believe is best for your situation first. Then, start a foot longer and see how you tune up on all bands. If you can tune all bands wanted to a 1.1:1 you are good. If not, start taking 8-10 inches off the wire and note the changes on all bands. If needed, cut 8-10" more off until you can tune all bands wanted. What we are doing here is trying to find an antenna impedance close to 450 ohms. You will find a spot that not only can you tune all bands but you can really work em!
Some bands may benefit from using radials or a small ground rod depending on the antenna wire length.  You can add or subtract from your antenna wire to obtain a better match for any band/s you wish but end fed's are all I run at my QTH and myself as well as 90% or more of my customers find that we like what we get without any added ground or counterpoise.
So just run your antenna wire 35.5-423 feet, run to your tuner and to your radio, tune up and talk!
WHY ARE MINE SO CHEAP IF THE QUALITY IS STILL TOP NOTCH?
Very simple! You are buying the matchbox. You can use whatever wire or cable you want for your element. There is no sense in sending this with a 40'piece of 14-18 gauge wire when you may want to use 84 feet.
You can Youtube Nelson Antennas or Nelson End Fed and find customer reviews.
WARNING!!!
I am eBays top seller of portable antennas and there something you need to understand if you don't already.  Other sellers state..... "Mine is not just a matchbox that you must use a tuner with but mine is truly resonant." Think about that for a second folks, mine is the same way with the added correct length of antenna wire! Fact is that some people don't have room for 65 feet of wire and some people want more than 30 feet of wire so I leave the length you would like to run up to you! You can run a random wire like 30 feet and use with your tuner and radio and tune most if not all bands depending on your tuner. Or you can run 200 feet and do the same. Or you can test a few lengths and find a length that will work well on all of the bands you want to work and choose your own length and guess what....You can find a length of your own that is resonant on all of those bands without a tuner just like the other guys act like they invented.
Fact is folks, I make a great product at a good price and always stand behind what I sell. I will always take care of my customers as my feed back surely shows.

Feedback from a customer on 4-16-2021
I purchased 9:1 QRO ununs from a nationally known source. In use, even though the antenna analyzer showed no issues, there was extreme signal attenuation. On 20m FT8 using my QRP 9:1 unun I would have signals across the spectrum window on receive. With the unnamed unun’s I would have only one or two signals sporadically. There were no loss of signals using your product. Very glad I looked at eBay and found your store.
You are welcome to use my feedback as needed.
