  • Condition: Very good condition with fine patina. Tail has been professionally re-attached so as to be barely noticeable but is still a little loose. Minor patina loss near foot(see photos).

    Description

    This majestic bronze lion was created by French sculptor Paul-Edouard Delabrierre(1829-1912) pre 1900. The lion measures 18" long, 11" tall, 6 1/2" deep. It is made of patinated bronze and depicts the lion walking about with a snake at its feet and leaves and grass below him. The piece is not on a stand. It weighs 27 1/2 pounds. It is artist signed as shown in photos. It is in very good condition with no damage to the patina on the bronze except a small area near a foot. It has a single repair--the tail was broken off and was professionally re-attached so it looks only like a very thin line. It is still not quite tight. Fabulous piece from a local collection.
