    Description

Today we are delighted to offer for sale a lovely antique 19th century French/English porcelain and ormolu pin! This beautiful and elegant pin is expertly hand-crafted of soft paste porcelain mounted in a ornate ormolu oval frame with rope and floral detailing border! The hand painted scene depicts an early 1800's couple from the Regency period, an image that seems to be inspired by the popular Jane Austen novel Pride and Prejudice. Perhaps the couple in the painting is Mr. Darcy and Ms. Bennett? The pin is unmarked but for a impressed "42" on the back (the high quality of the craftsmanship is equal to that of Limoges). The pin presents beautifully and is in very good antique condition, with very minor wear/scuffing/tarnishing and patina commensurate with age. This sweet and gorgeous brooch will make a fine addition to any antique jewelry collection! A gracious piece for a gracious buyer! Dimensions: Height: 2-1/2" Width: 1-7/8" Depth: 1/4"
